Hi Nick- I was sorry to learn of your food poisoning episode! I'll stay away from canned sardines! I read your daily log several times a week and you continue to be an inspiration and are often in my thoughts. I am fairly certain that changing to a (mostly) alkaline diet is the reason for the approximately 90% reduction in the low back pain which has handicapped me for the past seven years. (I have degenerative disc disease.) I have been able to work as many as 6 hours per day in my garden for the first time in 7 years. I had tried every form of treatment, both traditional and complimentary, that I could find during that time. Nothing helped. My physical therapist said early on that she thought that a high inflammatory response was playing a big part in the pain. I believe she was right. Her comment stayed with me, and when I read The pH Miracle, it clicked. The freedom from pain is still fairly new, so I will optimistically continue to monitor my progress.
